I forgot to list a couple items earlier.  We also have a beautiful handmade quilt that is a Double/Queen size valued at $125 and an Emergency Kit for 4 packed with supplies custom to Thurston County which is valued at $50.

I am so excited for our event this Saturday, May 1st.  I hope everyone can make it.  As a reminder, it is at the Thurston Co. fairgrounds just off of Carpenter Rd. in Lacey.  (8am-3pm) Our booths will be marked with yellow signs and the COTA sun logo, so look for us!  FYI, we are taking part in the "Secondhand Safari" and they charge for parking/admission at a flat rate of $2 before 9am, and $1 any time after that.

We have decided to start the bidding on some of our auction items now, rather than wait until the date of the event, (May 1, 2010).  If you are interested you can send your bid via email to Dawn at wontondawn@comcast.net, and/or show up on the day of the event. Make sure to include your name, bid amount and phone number. 

Last week I received a call from a very nice man in our area.  He wanted to donate a bunch of items to our garage sale.  The only problem was, where would we store them?  He suggested that I try to get a storage unit donated.  After spending about an hour on the phone calling various places around town, I finally got a "YES" from the Auto Mall Mini-Storage! 

 So this past Saturday a few of our core volunteers spent the day sifting through a whole warehouse full of stuff and trucking it over to the Auto Mall Mini-Storage.  They donated our unit for 1 month so we are able to store the items for our garage sale on May 1st!  This is truly a blessing and we are very greatful to them.  I also want to thank Brian @ Classic Chem Dry for his generous donation of goods!  Don't forget to come to our fabulous sale and check out our silent auction on May 1st at the Thurston County fairgrounds :o)

Can I interest anyone in a day at Emerald Downs, Tacoma Rainiers tickets, The Museum of Flight, Sideline tickets to a WSU Cougars football game?  These are just a sample of the great items we have been collecting.  There is also a wonderful custom portrait to bid on.  A local artist will take your standard photo and turn it into a masterpiece on canvas.  We also have some great items from Pampered Chef, Partylite Candles, a "Dog Lover's basket", a "Coffee Lover's basket" and more!  I am counting down the days until the second annual Secondhand Safari.  The focus is on garage sale items but don't forget we will have our silent auction set up too.  May 1st @ the Thurston County Fairgrounds 8 am.  Be there or be square!!

Hello to all.  We have finally set a date for our silent auction.  It will be held in conjunction with Thurston County's second annual "Secondhand Safari". The event takes place Saturday May 1st from 8am-3pm at the Thurston County fairgrounds in Lacey, Wa.  At our booth spaces we will have a variety of items for sale at discount prices; clothing for different ages, small appliances, entertainment centers, and home furnishings will all be there.

As for the auction portion, that will be in the same space but decorated and displayed beautifully to highlight the wonderful items we have for you.  Our list of auction items is rapidly growing so we hope that you will come check us out! 

Yesterday I hosted a Partylite Candle party and 20% of the sales went to Jessica's campaign.  There were about 9 orders and we raised just over $100!  We are creeping closer and closer to our $25,000 goal by the end of June :o)  Look for an e-mail campaign to raise funds in March (kidney awareness month), it is coming very soon.

Please keep Jessica in your thoughts.  She has bronchitis and quite a bit of congestion in her airway.  Jess is a very strong little girl but can only take so much.  She has had a high fever with this latest illness and that adds to the concern. 

I was just informed that we have something special coming from WSU, home of the Cougars.  I am awaiting it in the mail and will post more info when it gets here.  Another item we have is a beautiful handmade quilt worth at least $80!  I hope you all are as excited as I am about this event. 

Also keep in mind that we will be participating in our county's "Secondhand Safari," a community garagle sale, in May.  We are seeking your donations for this as well.  Do some early Spring cleaning, go through your kids' clothes, clear the clutter and donate your gently used items to us :o)
